Who We Are

The Regal Eagles (FIRST Robotics Competition Team 2869) are a high school robotics team based out of Bethpage High School in Long Island. The mission of our club is to offer opportunities for high school students to participate in world class STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) competitions. Students learn a range of practical skills including computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), CNC machinery, basic operation of metal mills and lathes, DC electronics, applied computer science using Java, elementary networking, mechanical design and assembly, electrical design and assembly, fundraising, project management, quality assurance, web design, graphics and animation.

The end goal is to promote the student (and parents) selection of rewarding STEM-related education and career choices. Specifically, we compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), and are currently entering our 10th season. Starting in January, we have 6-weeks to design, build, and program robots. We use these robots to compete against others from around the world. With our limited time and tight budget, it is critical we engage local corporate sponsors and smart business partnerships. While we are not building robots, we spend our time spreading engineering awarness to the local community, and even the world.

The Regal Eagles have really inspired [Bethpage Schools] in our STEM vision...all the way from K-12 Mr. Dave Schneider, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction & Technology at Bethpage Schools
